Centralized Intake Services are available from 8:00am - 5:00pm, Mondays - Fridays. Staff will assist you with locating available emergency shelter in all 3 counties in Delaware.

About Centralized Intake
Centralized Intake (CI) is the process by which Delaware coordinates access to emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, and permanent supportive housing for households experiencing homelessness in Delaware.
When a person or family is experiencing a crisis, and is in need of emergency shelter, CI staff will seek available shelter beds that are able to safely accommodate the household.
Beginning in 2014, all communities receiving homeless assistance funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are required to have a coordinated process by which households experiencing homelessness are assessed and prioritized for services and housing. Housing Alliance Delaware administers Centralized Intake in partnership with a variety of homeless assistance providers throughout the state.
There are additional ways that clients can access Centralized Intake services.
1. Dial 211
If a client is experiencing homelessness they may call Delaware 211 hotline to be connected to Centralized Intake for assistance.
2. State Service Center
A client may visit a local State Service Center. Once a household is identified as homeless and in need of shelter, a state service center staff person will assist the client with contacting Centralized Intake.
3. Homeless / Other Service Provider
A client may visit a local shelter or day center for assistance. Once the household is identified as being homeless, the worker can help the client contact Centralized Intake at 302-654-0126 ext. 112 or send an email to email@example.com.
