How can we better help our unhoused population in Wilmington, rather than effectively kicking them out of the city? How are options limited or improved by the recent Grants Pass Supreme Court ruling and the settlement of a Delaware case that ends enforcement of loitering and soliciting laws until they can be amended to address their constitutional issues? As we look at issues across our state, what role should be played by faith communities, police, non-profits, advocacy groups and government agencies?

This years’ service has a theme of “Holy Human Interruption,” a reference to our call as fellow humans to “interrupt” the aspects of our society that don’t honor our human worth and leave some without necessities, especially housing. Attendees will hear stories of how some are seeking to address the affordable housing crisis and hear calls to action.
